Just bought a Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT chrono. I am not sure if there may be a problem with the crown. When screwing it down, it does not stop turning, unlike my Rolexes . I am looking for advise and/or help on my Seamaster 300M , Ref 2223.80.00, Cal 1538 watch which has a broken Crown / Stem as in 3 pictures below. Just bought a Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT chrono. I am not sure if there may be a problem with the crown. When screwing it down, it does not stop turning, unlike my Rolexes which "lock" when they screw down.
I am looking for advise and/or help on my Seamaster 300M , Ref 2223.80.00, Cal 1538 watch which has a broken Crown / Stem as in 3 pictures below. I'm trying to understand in detail the waterproofness concept of the screw-down crown from the 60-70ies as found on many Seamaster models, e.g. 166.088 or 166.024. (Part number 069ST42062). This is what I'm talking about:
