Transmission seems to work fine. Should I be changing this or putting the old stuff back in and leaving it alone. Thanks!

Hi crew, just wanted some feedback on whether anyone has successfully acquired and installed a modern submariner glide lock clasp onto on older 16610 sub. Having some fitting issues and thought the glide lock could solve. No need for the “not genuine” blah blah blah.
Honestly, I’d take the large size clasp on the GMT II if it meant getting a proper glide lock clasp, the smaller adjustment increments are perfect for me and I find the easy link 5mm extension far too much of a jump. The Glidelock Fine-Adjustment System is a new feature designed by Rolex to allow you to quickly adjust the bracelet size of your Submariner (by 20mm), Deepsea, or Sea-Dweller (up to 26mm). Learn how to use the Glidelock system by viewing this step-by-step gallery, or watching this instructional video on Watch Chest’s YouTube channel, click here.
Obviously the finish will be different as the GMT and YM clasp continues the PCL down the centre whereas the Sub Glidelock is all brushed. However your biggest issue will be finding the clasp. Rolex won't sell you one, and if you come across one for sale on C24 or ebay, they are always up for a hideously expensive price for what they are. the plastic bits plug into a recess on each side of the link. 1 end of the link is open. Insert your spring bar through and install a plastic guide on one side only. Then install the link into the clasp. Now close the glide lock almost as tight as it will go leaving only enough room to fit the remaining plastic guide into it's track.
The standard Oysterlock clasp is crafted from 904L steel with increased chromium content. The added chromium makes the clasp especially corrosion-resistant - perfect for use in the water. Glidelock Clasp. The Rolex Glidelock clasp is very often confused with the Oysterlock clasp itself. The GMT has the easylink extension system that allows for a 5mm (I think) extension when an arm could be swollen from the heat. The glidelock was designed to allow for fitting over a wetsuit which can come in a variety of thickness. Hence why the GMT would not have the glidelock system. I, though, would agree.

The date code is typically stamped onto a leather tab and sewn along a seam of the bag interior. For leather tabs, the leather should match the leather color on the rest of the bag. Date codes will not be in the same location for all bags, but you can find the date code in the same location in specific styles.
